The Senegalese Program’s First Graduates
Josh and Carissa train and equip believers in Senegal. “Finishing teaching the first two years of Bible training in French and seeing our first class graduate, … we’re in awe at what God was able to accomplish, despite our frailty.” Praise God for allowing the missionary team to “see the lights turn on in the students’ minds as they began to understand the big picture of Scripture, the clear gospel message, their acceptance in Christ and so much more.” Praise God for opportunities to disciple the students through conversations over tea. Pray for more of these opportunities in the future. Praise God for team unity, good health and strong family relationships. Pray for the team kicking off the next year of Bible teaching in Senegal as Josh and Carissa are on home assignment in the USA.

The First Translation Check for the Taliabo Bible
Payton and Grace Downing minister among the Taliabo people of Asia Pacific. Recently, on the Downings’ seventh-year anniversary of moving to the island of Taliabu, Payton did his first Bible translation check. For two years now, Payton and his co-worker Greg Ried “have been day-in-day-out at work on this project (aside from each of our families having home assignments in the USA). We each got a total of 250 verses done between Jonah and portions of Luke (me) and Ruth and portions of Mark (Greg). … We are all thankful to God for helping us, as a broader Taliabo team, [and] for getting us this far!” Praise God that this check was done in time for Grace and the Taliabo ladies who have been working on Bible lessons to begin teaching the kids. Pray that, since Payton and Greg have a good system in place, the translation process will run quicker.
Soon They Will Hear God’s Talk
Michael and Morgan LeBlanc minister among the Kuyu people of Papua New Guinea. “Fifteen years ago, the Kuyu people began writing letters asking for someone to come teach them ‘God’s talk.’ Lord willing, on November 30, they’ll begin hearing God’s Story in their own language through 61 Bible lessons that build on one another, from Creation to Christ.” Pray that God will prepare the Kuyu people’s hearts to receive His Word. Pray for the team — including the Leblancs, Jonathan and Devon Ames, and Jacob and Katie DeValve — as they prepare to teach, that God would give them peace, clarity and wisdom. The team is previewing the Bible lessons with three Kuyu friends: Augustine, Thadeus and Vincent. Pray that they will understand the gospel and become some of the first Kuyu believers.
